History of FUJIFILM Planar Solutions, LLC

FUJIFILM Planar Solutions, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of FUJIFILM Electronic Materials U.S.A. focused on the development, manufacture, and marketing of products for chemical mechanical planarization (CMP) for the semiconductor industry.

History:

  • Joint Development Agreement signed July, 1998 between Wacker Chemical and Olin Chemicals (which spun-off Arch Chemicals in 1999) to develop, manufacture, and market CMP slurries
  • Joint Venture signed on April 27, 2000 between Wacker Chemical and Arch Chemicals, with 50%/50% ownership between Arch and Wacker
  • Planar Solutions’ parent site Wacker Silicones in Adrian, Michigan earns certification to the ISO 9002 standard in March 2001
  • Arch Chemicals’ 50% share purchased by FUJIFILM Electronic Materials in November 2005
  • Planar Solutions issued a certificate of registration to the ISO 9001:2000 standard by Moody International in March 2008
  • Fujifilm, through its subsidiary FUJIFILM Electronic Materials U.S.A., Inc., acquires from Wacker the remaining 50% membership interests in Planar Solutions on December 2, 2010 and renames the company FUJIFILM Planar Solutions, LLC
